Bhuail An Bord Bainistíochta ar an nDéardaoin, An 18ú Meitheamh, 2020 ar a 7.30 i.n. Cianchruinniú ar ‘zoom’ a bhí ann.

Seo an tuairisc aontaithe ón gcruinniú sin.

• Bronnfar an fáinne airgid ar daltaí Rang 6 ar an Luan agus ar an Mháirt, An 22ú agus An 23ú Meitheamh. Bronnadh aonair i halla na scoile le scaradh sóisialta a bheidh i gceist. Ócáid simplí a bheidh ann chun líofacht na ndaltaí sa ghaeilge a aithint. Bronnfar cochall agus teastas ar gach dalta freisin maraon le soláistí deasa ó Chomhairle na dTuistí. Guíodh gach beannacht agus gach rath ar na daltaí sa saol nua amach rompu agus gabhadh buíochas leo agus lena dtuistí. Gabhadh buíochas freisin le minteoir Emer Uí hAodhagáin agus Liam Ó Riain a d’oibrigh go dian dícheallach leis na daltaí i rith na bliana acadúla seo.
• Ghabh an bord buíochas ó chroí le daltaí, le tuistí agus le gach ball foirne idir an Príomhoide, na múinteoirí, na cúntóirí RSO, an rúnaí scoile, an t-airíoch scoile agus an glantóir scoile as a ndúthracht, as a gcomhoibriú agus as a solúbthacht le linn na paindéime seo. Gabhadh buíochas freisin le Comhairle na dTuistí as a gcuid oibre sa scoil i rith na bliana. Mhol an bord go dtógfadh gach duine sos tuillte ó chúramaí scoile i rith saoire an tSamhraidh.
• Déanfaidh an bord bainistíochta maraon le bainistíocht na scoile a sheacht ndícheall chun treoracha na roinne agus Feidhmeannacht na Seirbhísí Sláinte a leanúint mar ullmhúcháin d’oscailt na scoile san Fhómhar.
• Chuir an Leas-Príomhoide Eoin Ó Siochrú litir chuig an bhoird ag cinntiú go hoifigiúil go mbeidh sé ar scor scoile ón 2ú Deireadh Fómhair, 2020. Gabhann an bord buíochas ó chroí l’Eoin as a dhíograis agus as a thionchar dearfach sa scoil agus guíonn an bord gach rath agus gach beannacht air sa saol amach roimhe. Cuirfear tús le próiséas ceapacháin gan mhoill.
• Beidh Pádraig Ó Dálaigh ó Mhainistir na Corann fostaithe ag an mbord chun na siúltáin, na seomraí leithris, na dóirse agus na síleáil thuas staighre a phéinteáil. Aistreófar na soilse thuas staighre chuig soilse dé-óide astaite solais agus ceannófar cláracha fógraí daite dos na fallaí. Cuirfidh an cuma úr nua seo go mór l’atmaisféar álainn na scoile.

The Board of Management of Gaelscoil Choráin met on Thursday, the 18^th of June, 2020. The distance meeting was held using ‘zoom’ as a platform.

The following is the agreed report from the meeting.

• Rang 6 will be presented with ‘an fáinne airgid’ on Monday and Tuesday next, June 22^nd and 23^rd. It will be presented individually in the school hall to students with all social distancing etiquette strictly observed. It will be a simple and informal occasion to mark the proficiency that the children have gained in our native language. The children will also be presented with a hoodie and a certificate as well as a few treats courtesy of our very active and diligent Parent’s Council. The board wishes all students the very best in life’s journey ahead and the board wishes to thank all students and their parents for their contribution to the school. Sincere thanks is also expressed to their class teachers múinteoirí Emer Uí hAodhagáin and Liam Ó Riain for their diligence and work with the students throughout the current academic year.
• The board expresses their sincere thanks and appreciation to all of the students in the school, to their parents, to the entire staff including the Principal, teachers, SNA’s, the school secretary, the caretaker and the cleaner for the diligence, cooperation and flexibility shown throughout the current pandemic. The board also wishes to thank the Parent’s Council for their work in the school throughout the year. The board strongly encourages the entire school community to take a well deserved break from school responsibilities throughout the summer holidays.
• The board wishes to assure the entire school community that both they and the management of the school will do everything possible to follow any guidelines that will issue form the Department of Education and Skills and from the Health Services Executive regarding the safe re-opening of the school. They will be guided by informed decisions in preparing for a return to school in September.
• The board received correspondence from the Vice-Principal of the school Mr. Eoin Ó Siochrú informing them officially of his decision to retire on October 2^nd, 2020. The board wish to thank Eoin sincerely for his years of dedicated service and for his positive influence in the school and they wish him every blessing for the years ahead. An appointment process will commence without further delay.
• Pat Daly painting services in Midleton have been employed by the board to paint the corridors, doors, ceilings and bathrooms upstairs during the holidays. The lighting upstairs will be changed to LED lighting and coloured noticeboards will be purchased and mounted on the walls. The proposed renovations will add significantly to the lovely atmosphere of the school.
