Tuairisc Aontaithe ón mBord Bainistíochta/Agreed Report from the Board of Management

Bhuail An Bord Bainistíochta ar an gCéadaoin, An 27ú Bealtaine, 2020 ar a 7.30 i.n. Cianchruinniú ar ‘zoom’ a bhí ann.

Seo an tuairisc aontaithe ón gcruinniú sin.

  • Tá dhá iarratas d’obair éigeandála á chur isteach chun na roinne ag Bord Bainistíochta na scoile chun feabhas a chur ar córas sábháilteachta agus beatha na scoile. Baineann iarratas amháin leis an gcóire scoile agus baineann an tarna iarratas leis an taláram scoile. Fostaíodh an t-innealtóir Seán Ó Géibheannaigh ó ‘Matt & O Mahony Associates’ mar chomhairleoir don chúram seo. Tá sé fhéin agus Príomhoide Caitríona Ní Riada ag obair ar na hiarratais seo faoi láthair.
  • Ba mhaith le Bord Bainistíochta na scoile aitheantas fé leith a thabhairt do phobal na scoile ar fad as a mbuanseasmhacht in uair na hanachaine agus as a solúbthacht i rith na paindéime reatha seo. Tá moladh go deo tuillte ag gach éinne as a gcomhoibriú, as a bhfoighne, as a dtuiscint agus as a rannpháirtíocht ghníomhach le cianfhoghlaim. Mhol an Bord an cultúr cúraim den scoth atá cothaithe ag an scoil chun cabhrú le paistí na scoile, lena dtuistí agus le foireann na scoile le linn na paindéime seo. Léiríonn an cultúr cúraim seo an luach tábhachtach a cuirtear air mar chuid d’éiteas na scoile. Dúradh paidir speisialta do phobal na scoile, dona dteaghlaigh agus dona mhuintir go bhfanfaidís slán sábháilte agus gabhadh buíochas ó chroí le gach éinne as an spiorad comhoibritheach atá le feiscint go soiléir.
  • Tá an Bord Bainistíochta ag fanacht le treoirlínte na roinne agus le treoirlínte Fheidhmeannacht na Seirbhísí Sláinte maidir le filleadh thar n-ais chun na scoile san Fhómhair. Déanfar gach iarracht na treoirlínte a leanúint agus a bheith chomh réamhghníomhaí agus is féidir.
  • Mhol an Bord Bainistíochta obair na scoile chun turas oideachais Rang 6 a mharcáil sa scoil. Bronnfar an fháinne airgid, cochall agus teastas ar gach páiste ag am a bheidh oiriúnach agus le scaradh sóisialta agus le teorraineacha tógtha san áireamh. Tá fís á chur le chéile freisin l’ionchur gach páiste i Rang 6. Ghabh an Bord Bainistíochta buíochas ar leith le múinteoirí Rang 6 – Emer Uí hAodhagháin agus Liam Ó Riain, le tuistí Rang 6 agus gan dabht le gach páiste sa rang. Guíodh gach rath agus gach beannacht orthu sa saol amach rompu.

 

Beidh an chéad chruinniú eile den Bhord Bainistíochta ar an nDéardaoin, An 18ú Meitheamh, 2020. Cianchruinniú ar ‘zoom’ a bheidh i gceist.

The Board of Management of Gaelscoil Choráin met on Tuesday, the 27th of May, 2020. The distance meeting was held using ‘zoom’ as a platform.

The following is the agreed report from the meeting.

  • The Board of Management are currently preparing two emergency works applications to submit to the Department of Education and Skills in relation to improving the life and safety systems in the school. One application relates to the replacement of the existing oil boiler installed in 1967 with a new gas boiler and the other application relates to the installation of an up to date fire alarm system in the school. The Board have employed the services of consultant engineer Mr. John Geaney from ‘Matt & O Mahony Associates’ to draw up required reports to accompany the applications. Both Mr. John Geaney and Príomhoide Caitríona Ní Riada are working on the applications at the moment and aim to submit them without further delay.
  • The Board of Management would like to pay special acknowledgement to the entire school community for their forbearance at this difficult time and for their flexibility during this Covid-19 pandemic. The cooperation, patience, understanding and engagement of all with distance learning is praiseworthy. The Board praised the wonderful culture of care that is cultivated in the school to support students, their parents and staff during this pandemic, a culture that is reflective of the ethos and of the core values of the school. The Board prayed for the health and safety of the entire school community and for their immediate and extended families and they thanked everyone for the cooperative spirit that is very much in evidence.
  • The Board are currently awaiting guidelines from the Department of Education and Skills and from the Health Service Executive regarding the return to school in the Autumn. The Board wish to reassure the school community that every effort will be made to follow the guidelines and to be as proactive as possible in protecting the health and safety of all.
  • The Board praised the schools planning and efforts to mark the educational journey of students in Rang 6. The ‘fáinne airgid’, a hoodie and a certificate will be presented to all students at a time yet to be decided and with social distancing measures and restrictions fully observed. A simple video is being compiled with the input of the students. The Board thanked in particular the class teachers, múinteoirí Emer Uí hAodhagháin and Liam Ó Riain, the parents of students in Rang 6 and the students themselves, no doubt. They wished them every success and every blessing for the future.

The next meeting of the Board of Management will be on Thursday, June 18th, 2020. The distance meeting will be held using ‘zoom’ as a platform.
