Bhuail An Bord Bainistíochta ar an Mháirt, An 5ú Samhain, 2019 ar a 7.30 i.n.

Seo an tuairisc aontaithe ón gcruinniú sin.

• Ceapadh múinteoirí Carmel Uí Chiardha-Ní Bhriain agus Aisling Ní Fhlaithearta mar mhúinteoirí buan tar éis próiséas agallaimh trí chomórtas oscailte ar an 16ú Deireadh Fómhair. Ghabh an Bord Bainistíochta comhghairdeas leo agus guíodh gach rath agus gach beannacht orthu ina saoil múinteoireachta.
• Daingníodh an Cód Iompair Scoile nua i mí Dheireadh Fómhair. Cuireadh cóip ar ríomhphost chuig gach tuismitheoir agus chuig gach ball foirne. Tá cóip ar fáil ar shuíomh na scoile agus is féidir cruachóip a fháil ar iarratas ón scoil.
• Tá an próiséas rollaithe tosnaithe don bhliain acadúil 2020/21. Ar an 11ú Samhain agus de réir an pholasaí iontrála rachaidh litir agus iarratas iontrála chuig tuistí a líon foirm léiriú suime dona bpáistí. I gcás tuistí nár líon foirm léiriú suime is féidir teach tar iarratas iontrála ar shuíomh na scoile. An spriocdáta d’iarratais a bheith thar n-ais ná an 19ú Samhain. Déanfar teagmháil le tuistí go haonáránach ar an 3ú Nollag agus cinnteófar leo má tá áit ar fáil sa scoil dona bpáistí.
• Bhí díolachán cístí i halla na scoile roimh an briseadh idir-téarma agus ghnóthaigh an tiomsaitheoir airgid seo €1,822 don scoil. Tugadh síntús de €300 don t-Institiúid Náisiúnta Ríoga na mBád Tarrthála agus rachaidh na fáiltis atá fágtha i dtreo ceardlainne scoile agus i dtreó seilfeann don leabharlann scoile. Gabhadh buíochas le Comhairle na dTuistí as an dtiomsaitheoir iontach seo a eagrú agus a reachtáil.
• Comhgháirdeas le foireann caide na scoile a shroich an cluiche ceannais de Sciath na Scol. Ghabh an Bord buíochas leis an Leas Príomhoide Eoin Ó Siochrú agus le múinteoir Alf Ó Duinnshléibhe as an sár obair a chuireadar isteach ag traenáil na foirne. Gabhadh buíochas freisin leis an gcúntóir RSO Antóin Ó Diolúin as an gcabhair iontach a thug sé dóibh.
• Beidh daltaí i Rang 5 & 6 ag glacadh páirt i nGaeilge 24 ar an Mháirt, An 12ú Samhain. Feachtas is ea é seo atá eagraithe ag Conradh na Gaeilge chun ár dteanga dúchais a chur chun cinn i scoileanna agus i bpobail mór thimpeall na tíre. Beidh díospóireachtaí, tráth na gceist, amhránaíocht agus a lán rudaí eile á dhéanamh ag na daltaí. Mhol an Bord an sár obair atá á dhéanamh ag an scoile chun grá donár dteanga dúchais a chothú i measc pobal na scoile.
• Beidh ceolchoirm na Nollag ar siúl ar an nDéardaoin, An 12ú Nollag.

Beidh an chéad chruinniú eile den Bhord Bainistíochta ar an Mháirt, an 10ú Nollag, 2019.

The Board of Management of Gaelscoil Choráin met on Tuesday, the 5^th of November, 2019.

The following is the agreed report from the meeting.

• Múinteoirí Carmel Uí Chiardha-Ní Bhriain and Aisling Ní Fhlaithearta were appointed to permanent positions in the school following an interview process through open competition on the 16^th of October. The Board of Management congratulated them and wished them every blessing and success in their teaching careers.
• The schools new Code of Behaviour was ratified in October. A copy was sent by e-mail to all parents and to all staff members. A copy is also available on the school website and a hard copy is available on request from the school.
• The school’s enrolment process for the academic year 2020/21 has commenced. On November 11^th and in line with the enrolment policy a letter and an enrolment application will be posted to all parents who completed an expression of interest form. In the case of parents who did not complete an expression of interest form and who wish to enrol their child in the school a copy of the enrolment application can be downloaded from the school website. The deadline for submission of applications is November 19^th. The school will make contact with parents on the 3^rd of December to confirm if their child has secured a place in the school.
• A very worthwhile cake sale was held in the school hall prior to the mid-term break and this fundraiser raised a grand total of €1,822 for the school. A donation of €300 from the proceeds will be given to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and the remaining proceeds will go towards funding school workshops for the students and towards the purchase of shelving for the school library. The Board thanked the Parents Council for organising and for running this worthwhile fundraiser.
• The Board congratulated the school’s football team on reaching the final of the Sciath na Scol competition. The Board thanked Vice Principal Eoin Ó Siochrú, teacher Alf Ó Duinnshléibhe and SNA Antóin Ó Diolúin for their wonderful work in training the team and accompanying them to matches.
• Rang 6 will participate in Gaeilge 24 on Tuesday, November 12^th. This is an initiative run by Conradh na Gaeilge to promote the use of our native language in schools and in communities throughout the country. The students will participate in debates, drama, a quiz, singing and in many other activities and all through the medium of the Irish language. The Board acknowledged the great work that is being done by the school in promoting the Irish language and in instilling a love of the language amongst the school community.
• The annual Christmas concert will be held in the school on Thursday, December 12^th.

The next meeting of the Board of Management will be on Tuesday, December 10^th, 2019.
