Bhuail An Bord Bainistíochta ar an Mháirt, An 2ú Bealtaine, 2017 ar a 7.30 i.n.

Seo an tuairisc aontaithe ón gcruinniú sin.

  • Glacfaidh páistí Rang 2 lena gCéad Chomaoineach Naofa ar an Satharn, An 13ú Bealtaine i Séipéal An Teaghlaigh Naofa. Guíodh rath Dé orthu ar fad.
  • Bronnfar an Brat Glas ar an scoil ar an nDéardaoin, An 11ú Bealtaine ag sermannas bronnta an Bhrait Ghlais in óstán An Radisson Blu san Oileán Beag. Beidh Príomh-Oide Caitríona Ní Riada agus Múinteoir Lisa Ní Lúing i láthair maraon le beirt dalta ó choiste an Bhrait Ghlais. Moladh an sár obair bhainistíocha dramhaíola atá ar siúl sa scoil agus tugadh aitheantas ar leith do Choiste An Bhrait Ghlais. Eagrófar searmannas scoile don Mháirt, An 13ú Meitheamh.
  • Tá an scoil ag leanúint treoracha maidir le dea-chleachtas soláthair. Sa bhliain acadúil 2016-17 rinneadh roinnt dul chun cinn maidir leis seo.

Mar Shampla:

  1. Aistríodh chuig soláthraí aibhléise agus fóin níos saoire.
  2. Tá an gléas fotochóipeála á n-úsáid mar phrintéir scoile in ionad an printéir. Ba chóir go mbeadh sábháilt airgid maidir leis na billí dúigh.
  3. Téann comhfhreagras scoile ar ríomh phost chuig tuistí. Tá sábháilt shuantasach le feiscint ó thaobh páipéir agus dúch.
  4. Mar chuid den gcóras bainistíocha dramhaíola atá ar siúl ag coiste An Bhrait Ghlais baineadh na boscaí brúscair ó na seomraí ranga. De thoradh ar sin tá sábháilt shuntasach ar na billí dramhaíle.
  • D’eagraigh an scoil dhá thiomsaitheoir scoile le déanaí agus ghabh an Bord Bainistíochta buíochas le foireann na scoile agus le Comhairle na dTuistí as a ndíograis agus as a saorálaíochas. Rinne an scoil €4,200 (lúide iomlán na gcostas) as rás Mágh Ealla 10 agus fógrófar na fáiltis ón gClasaic Gailf an tseachain seo chugainn.
  • Rachaidh Rang 6 ar turas gaeltachta chuig Ceann Trá i gContae Chiarraí ón 23ú Bealtaine go dtí an 25ú Bealtaine. Gabh an Bord Bainistíochta buíochas do Phríomh-Oide Caitríona Ní Riada as ucht an turas a eagrú ar phraghas an réasúnta dos na daltaí. Bhí pacáil málaí ar siúl i SuperValu dé hAoine, An 28ú Aibreán mar thiomsaitheoir don turas agus rinneadh €1,264.88. Guíodh gach rath ar na daltaí agus ar an bhfoireann a bheidh ag taisteal leo.

The Board of Management met on Tuesday, May 2nd, 2017 at 7.30 p.m.

The following is the agreed report from the meeting.

  • Students in Rang 2 will make their First Holy Communion on Saturday, May 13th in the Holy Family Church. The Board wish them every blessing on their special day.
  • The school will be awarded their first Green Flag at a special awards ceremony on Thursday, May 11th in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Little Island. Principal Caitríona Ní Riada and class teacher Lisa Ní Lúing will be in attendance along with two students from the Green Flag committee. The Board praised the great work that is being done in terms of waste management in the school and special words of appreciation were extended to the Green Flag Committee. A ceremony will be held in the school on Tuesday, June 13th for the raising of the flag.
  • The school is committed to following procurement measures in terms of school expenditure. In the academic year 2016-17 much progress was made in this regard.

For Example:

  1. The school switched to cheaper electricity and phone providers.
  2. Printable material is printed using the school photocopier as opposed to the school printer. This should result in savings in terms of ink usage.
  3. Correspondence is e-mailed to parents as a means of communication. This is resulting in significant savings in terms of paper and of ink.
  4. As part of the schools commitment to waste reduction it was agreed that refuse bins would be removed from each classroom. This has resulted in lower refuse collection bills.
  • The school recently organised two fundraisers and the Board praised the staff and the Parent’s Council for their dedication and spirit of volunteerism. The Mallow 10 mile road race fundraiser was very successful with €4,200 (minus costs) being raised. The total of funds generated from the Golf Classic fundraiser will be announced next week once confirmed.
  • Students in Rang 6 will go on a gaeltacht trip to Ventry in Co. Kerry from May 23rd to 25th. The Board thanked Principal Caitríona Ní Riada for organising this trip thus ensuring that it is reasonably priced for all students. A bag packing fundraiser for the trip was held in SuperValu on Friday, April 28th resulting in a total of €1,264.88 being raised. The Board wished all of the students and the staff members travelling with them a safe and enjoyable trip.
  • The next meeting of the Board of Management will be on June, 13th, 2017.
